Formats:

Individual/Semi-Private, 1 day pistol: minimum of 1 student, maximum of 4 students. Tailored to the specific needs of the students.

2 day pistol: at your facility; minimum 12 students, maximum 16 students. Note: one free entry to student that acts as liaison in setting everything up (providing minimum class size is met). Purpose is to give the student fundamentals and ways to apply them. Allowing them to take home a way to practice them so they may apply them on demand in the future.

Advanced mechanical techniques used by Jerry to win National and World Titles. All techniques will be discussed and demonstrated; then students will shoot techniques in drill form and be critiqued.

• magazine changes
• target acquisition
• kneeling
• prone
• setting up in a shooting box
• shooting around barricades or props *
• shooting on the move **
• 1-2 hour discussion at end of class on visual and mental aspects of competition shooting; also question and answer session.

• value of maintaining a log book
• topics of guns and gear will be discussed, as time permits
• how and what to practice

Custom 2 day: Group that has facilities and requests class designed for their specific competitive needs; how to shoot:

• Steel Challenge
• World Shoot-off (man vs. man)
• Masters International
• Second Chance Bowling Pins
• IPSC - courses of fire, etc.

Custom formats are generally designed for 1 to 6 students (maximum of 8 students).

3 day pistol: Maximum class size - 8 students. Purpose of course is to learn the art of stage breakdown; shooting stages to the best of your ability - not just the way Jerry Barnhart would shoot it. Note: this course is not designed to shoot massive quantities of ammunition in order to perfect techniques; but, rather to refine approaches to courses of fire. Designed for C Class or higher skill levels, Open or Limited Class.

Day 1 topics to include:

• draw
• magazine changes
• target acquisition
• setting up in shooting boxes
• shooting while on the move
• shooting around props
• shooting at swinging and drop-turning targets
• different approaches to prone and kneeling; depending on the situation.
• visual and mechanical techniques discussed and used throughout the three days.
• overview of some advanced mechanical skills that will be used in days 2 and 3

Days 2 and 3:

• there will be scheduled shooting times, like in a match
• student will shoot courses of fire and be scored, like a match. After critique and evaluation student will re-shoot course of fire.
• some individual parts of stages will be broken down and practiced, critiqued and evaluated.
• courses of fire could include:
• swinging, drop-turning and disappearing targets
• multiple shoot-box stages
• progressive movement
• prop manipulation
• multiple shooting ports
• speed shoots and standards
• hard and soft cover
• use of a timer and printer will be emphasized heavily throughout.
• visual and mental topics will be discussed to help you reach your ultimate goals.

5 day format: at your facility; minimum 10 students, maximum 16 students. Note: one free entry to student that acts as liaison in setting everything up (providing minimum class size is met).

• competition pistol - Open or Limited Class
• competitive holster
• minimum 4 magazines for high capacity guns
• minimum 8 magazines for single stack guns
• ear and eye protection
• normal "stuff" you need for a match
• note pad and pencil (no audio or video recorders allowed, NO EXCEPTIONS!)

Ammunition:

• individual/semi-private: varies depending on group-size and needs
• 2 day pistol: 1,000 rounds
• 3 day pistol: 1,200 rounds
• 5 day pistol: 2,000 rounds
